"Start Up for Your Business" – Grant contract signing

A ceremony of signing the Grant contracts within the programme"Start Up for your business" has been held on 26th of June in Belgrade, Metropol hotel. Thus the first phase of the national programme for supporting employment and entrepreneurial development has been completed.On the occasion of the 10 years anniversary of Philip Morris Operations in Serbiaand because of great interest for theprogramme, 110 grants were awarded to the grant beneficiaries from the Serbia wide this year. Apart from Philip Morris, as a main funder of the programme, the National Employment Service gave its technical support, as well as a national broadcast agency - Radio Television Serbia as a media partner. Theprogramme "Start Up for your business” supports people who want to start or improve their own businesses by awarding grants up to 200.000 RSDin the form of necessary equipment for development of supported businesses.

This year's programmehas supported the following projects: 58% production, 23% agriculture and 19% services. This ratio is a result ofcontemporary economic principles - that the engine of the country’s development are SMEs due to their high flexibility, dynamism and innovation.On the other hand, the agricultural potential of our country is great and should not be neglected. Therefore, the number ofapproved agricultural donationsare on the second place after the production projects.

Taking into account the pool of unemployed young people, 65% of the clients supported within the programme are under the age of 30,They are promising young entrepreneurs with high-quality ideas, and are expected to carry out successful and long-term businesses.

One of the criteriaconsidered during the selection procedure was - women entrepreneurship.Out of 110grants, 37% were awardedto women entrepreneurs with great business ideas and strong motivation for starting or expanding a business.

 

The next phase after the grant contract signingwill be providing equipment for supported businesses.

During August allof the supported clients will be provided with the following training courses: Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance sources, Business plan.This is the result of the joint effort of ENECA and Philip Morris to enable the supported businesses to be sustainable in a long run and to lay a ground for healthyand efficient community.

The clients who have shown interest for additional improvement of their business, will be provided with necessary vocational training specially tailored according to their specific needs and preferences.

Apart from the equipment, business and vocational training, as an additional support to present and future clients, ENECA has provided constant counseling and guidanceby experienced economic experts.
