Grant Contracts signed with 49 Refugees and IDPs

ENECA signed forty nine grant contracts with refugees and internally displaced persons in the City Hall in Nis on Oct 27th, 2010 within the project »Support to Refugees and IDPs in Serbia«

Within the project »Support to Refugees and IDPs in Serbia« implemented in partnership with IOM, ENECA signed 49 grant contracts on Oct 27th, 2010 with refugees and IDPs residing in Nis, including a small number of local socially vulnerable population.

Those contracts present the assistance in equipment and material of average value up to 1.500,00 EUR meant for refugees and IDPs to start their own business activity thus gaining economic independence in the process of integration.

The signees have passed two selection procedure phases proving the sustainability and viability of the suggested business ideas. They gained the right to use the equipment for establishment and development of businesses providing for themselves and their families regular income.

The supported beneficiaries will attend tailor made business and vocational trainings and perform 15 hrs of community service while ENECA procures the requested equipment.

Total number of registered applications is 110, out of which 8 refugees, 72 internally displaced persons, 7 socially vulnerable locals, and 23 local residents with previous refugee status.

Percentage of applications per activity type shows the highest interest for businesses in the field of services 67,27%, while for the craft were interested 18,18 % of applicants and 14,55% related to the agriculture activities.
