ENECA cooperation with Soko Banja municipality

 Project Economic Strengthening as a Means for the Integration of Refugees IDPs and Returnees”

Today ENECA signed Agreement on Cooperation with Soko Banja municipality within the project “Economic Strengthening as a Means for the Integration of Refugees IDPs and Returnees”. On behalf of the municipality the agreement was signed by the Major of Soko Banja municipality Dimitrije Lukić and on behalf of ENECA, a Project Coordinator Marija Stanković.

This project, which ENECA is implementing on the territory of the municipalities of Blace, Žitoradja, Kuršumlija, Soko Banja, Vladičin Han and Zaječar, foresees financial and technical support to 80 refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees including a number of socially vulnerable local population.

At least ten business activities will be supported on the territory of Soko Banja municipality. The project value in this municipality is around 31.000 EUR.

          Potential beneficiaries should propose sound business ideas in order to gain possibility to receive equipment/material of the average value of 2 000 EUR with limited ownership within two years.

As in previous projects of local economic development, beneficiaries who sign contract on donation, will be obliged to register their business activities, attend business trainings necessary for selected business activities and do community service work which will be organized in cooperation with the municipality.

This project aims at supporting refugees and internally displaced persons in achieving their economic independence in the integration process and the total value of the project is 250.000 EUR.

                    ENECA project is funded by European Union through the Delegation of the EU to the Republic of Serbia. The aim of the project, which is in line with the National Strategy for Resolving the Problems of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, is to contribute to the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Serbia to enhance living conditions and resolve existential issues of these people.
