ENECA is implementing the project “Development of a Sustainable Bioenergy Market in Serbia” in cooperation with the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ), which is funded by the Ministry of Economic Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ).

The aim of the project is to promote a sustainable way of using bioenergy in the Nisava district, through a comprehensive approach based on:

  • Formation of working groups as mechanisms for forming bioenergy policies and goals;
  • Increasing regional capacities in the field of sustainable use of bioenergy;
  • Support of sustainable use of biomass;
  • Increasing public awareness of the sustainable use of biomass.

The target groups of the project are decision-makers from the public and private sectors, bioenergy-related companies (including wood, boiler and similar production), civil society organizations dealing with bioenergy and the environment, the media, forest owners, municipal energy managers or government services in charge of energy issues, representatives of public companies and institutions (municipal heating plants, utility companies, schools).
