ENECA is implementing the project “Sustainable agricultural and food production in the role of rural development” as part of the Platform for Responsible Management of Public Finances project, which is financed by the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden.
The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the economic development of agricultural producers and fruit and vegetable processors in the rural areas of the city of Nis, through a comprehensive approach based on the revitalization of rural areas with the aim of reducing inequality between urban and rural areas, the principles of environmental protection and the application of circular economy business models. .
The target groups of the project are commercial and non-commercial agricultural households, entrepreneurs, micro and small businesses engaged in primary agricultural production and processing of fruits and vegetables from the territory of the city of Niš.
The project selected 10 beneficiaries whose basic activity is the primary agricultural production of fruits and vegetables or the processing of fruits, vegetables, and forest fruits and who are registered as commercial and non-commercial agricultural households, that is, micro and small enterprises and entrepreneurs.
The expected results of the project are:
Raised awareness of people from rural areas about the importance of the ecological aspect of business; agriculture and fruit and vegetable processing, circular economy and business development;
Prepared methodology and program of training and mentoring for project users;
Procurement of composting equipment;
10 users of the project were trained through a two-day professional training;
10 beneficiaries of the project went through the mentoring program;
Certification was provided for 2 project users;
Provided product label design improvement to two project beneficiaries;
Organized two one-day visits to farmers and fruit and vegetable processors from the territory of the city of Niš;
Promotion of project users and their products at a specialized promotional event in the city of Niš;
Achieved visibility of the project and results.
